FREE Parenting Classes Scheduled!

The Children's Services Council of St. Lucie County has set new dates for its FREE Parenting Classes. Two different classes are currently being offered.

Managing and Surviving Parenthood - Toddlers to Teens is a highly interactive four-week course designed for parents and/or professionals who work with children of all ages. This course utilizes real life examples to provide skills and knowledge to survive and thrive during the adolescent years. Classes meet once a week for four weeks at South Port Middle School. Next scheduled Managing and Surviving Classes begin February 3 and run through February 24, with a second session beginning March 3 and ending March 24. All classes begin at 6:00 pm.

Redirecting Children's Behavior is a five-week course based on the work of Rudolph Dreikurs, M.D., a highly noted therapist, researcher and author of Children: The Challenge. The course is endorsed and recommended by pediatricians and mental health professionals nationwide. Classes meet once a week for five weeks at various locations. Next scheduled Redirecting Children's Behavior class begins February 10 and runs through March 10 at Port St. Lucie Elementary School, with a second class beginning April 20 and ending May 18 at the Fort Pierce PAL Location. All classes begin at 6:00 pm.
