Unsung Hero Award Given To Bill Brown

We have in our Village (Spanish Lakes Country Club) many people who quietly give of themselves. One such individual was honored on April 17, 2007 by the New England Club. Bill Brown has been chosen for our First Annual Unsung Hero Award. His name was submitted by many members.

Bill's contributions include:
1. Being instrumental in founding and leading Neighbors Helping Neighbors;
2. Constantly decorating our entrance area at festive times of the year. He is aided in that endeavor by his wife, Doris.
3. Providing handicapped ramps for those in need;
4. Contacting Meals on Wheels and other social services on behalf of families;
5. Driving for Circle of Friends;
6. A Communication Center ready to function in the Longevity Room in case of Hurricanes' and other crises;
7. Revitalizing the "Block Captain" program;
8. Emergency notification at times of crisis;
9. Staying in touch with families in need.

Bill Brown possesses the very traits that The New England Club was searching for when establishing this Award. Thank you, Bill, for "making our Village a better place to live".
