WOMEN VOLUNTEERS PREPARE TO BUILD
Contributed by: Teri Pinney on 12/15/2008

The St. Lucie County Habitat Women Build volunteers continue to prepare for the site project that's coming up in January. Pictures here are of the second training session given by Lowe's St. Lucie West in December. The women are being shown how to operate a table saw anda power hand saw.

The next training session at Lowe's SLW will be on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 9:00 a.m. where the topic will be "How to Work Safely". Many more women volunteers are encouraged to come, so please attend if you're interested.

The actual building project begins on January 10 at 1109 N 21st Street in Fort Pierce (right across Lincoln Park Academy) with a targeted end date of April 4. Help is needed in numerous capacities besides constructing of the home. Volunteers who can serve lunch, run errands, pick up materials, or simply provide moral support will be very much appreciated.

Call the SLC Habitat for Humanity volunteer coordinator, Cheryl Stanley, at (772) 464-1117 or email Teri Pinney at tpinney1@aol.com for more information.

Come on out and join the dozens of women volunteers who are from real estate offices, schools, social clubs, retirement communities, government sectors, financial institutions, and more! Have fun while helping a great cause!!!
