United Way of St. Lucie County will hold its 3 rd Annual Day of Caring on Saturday, May 2 nd, 2009. Day of Caring brings together employees, employers, community groups, organizations and agencies to work on important community projects. Participating in these projects promotes a greater understanding of community issues and also provides excellent team building opportunities.
United Way's Day of Caring supports health and human service programs by allowing them to focus their resources on front-line services. Last year's Day of Caring brought 150 volunteers to 9 local agencies to work on various projects- including painting, landscaping, and flower delivery. This year's Day of Caring promises to be even bigger, with various representatives from local businesses, agencies and organizations on the planning committee already hard at work on the event.
