SLC Education Foundation Elects New Officers

The St. Lucie County Education Foundation elected officers for the 2009 - 2010 year at the Annual Meeting June 23.

New officers are the following: President - Pamela Houghten, Director of Education and Community Outreach for Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies; Vice President - Michael Waninger, Vice President and Business Services Director of Workforce Development Board of the Treasure Coast; Treasurer - Lee Brown, Senior Vice President for First People's Bank; Secretary - Kelley Charles, Director of Laboratory Services for St. Lucie Medical Center.

The Education Foundation, established in 1990 as a non-profit organization, is dedicated to promoting, encouraging, and recognizing excellence in public education right here in St. Lucie County. Strong public education is the key component for a desirable quality of life in our county.
