The Ft. Pierce Police Athletic League gives at-risk-youth a safe and friendly environment to learn the fundamentals of sports. Youth participating in the program also receive help with academics. At the present time, youth are on waiting lists due to a shortage of volunteers. Volunteers assist with teaching the fundamentals of sports, mentoring/tutoring and they can contribute with the new Alternative Education Program.
