FORT PIERCE -Do you enjoy the outdoors and want to spend more time there? St. Lucie County's Environmental Resources Department is seeking responsible individuals for the "Work Kamper" program.
An opening currently exists at the Paleo Hammock Preserve located off Carlton Road in western St. Lucie County. Though the position is non-paid, in exchange for 20 hours of work per week, the camper is provided free electric, water and sewer hookups for a period between 6 - 12 months. "Work Kampers" must supply their own recreational vehicle.
The "Work Kamper" provides valuable assistance to the Environmental Lands Program in several ways including opening and closing gates, patrolling and maintenance duties. All applicants must meet stringent law enforcement background checks that include no wildlife violations.
