FORT PIERCE - Overnight camping and kayak rentals have returned to the Savannas Recreation Area on Midway Road. The campgrounds and canoe/kayak rentals are available now through May 3, 2010.

There are five different types of camping available include: primitive, unimproved (no electricity), improved (electric and water), full-improved (electric, water and sewage hookup) and group. Camping prices range from $10 - $22 a night. Amenities include: hot and cold showers, water fill up station, laundry facilities, public telephones, playground and more.

The Savannas is a 550-acre wetland preserve featuring camping, canoeing/kayaking, bird watching and many other passive recreation activities. Daily admission into the park is free.
