OCTOBER 24, 2009
Today started off with a question about the impending rain and after having the reschedule the tournament from last Sunday the Teen's were ready to fish. The morning did turn out to be beautiful and there was only a slight breeze. We meet at Jaycee Park at 6:30am and gave out the boat assignments. We had a total of 17 Teen Angers fishing today.
The day started off with most of the Teen's catching fish but, the only problem was that just about every fish was1/2 to 1 inch short. Lane Burton and Justin Roe each caught a good number of fish but all too short. Dylora Kohler, Margaret Martzolf, Michael William, Pierce Hostelter and Tyler Serio all caught short snook and redfishand this was a first for several of the Teen'sand Michael did catch a keeper snapper. CJ Swinford, DJ Markowski and Ariel Vance all caught a good number of fish but once again all shorts except DJ did have 2 snapper to weigh in. Shane Surrency and Maxwell Higgins each caught a keeper fish -- Shane had a sheepshead and Maxwell had a snapper. Brennen Tessier and Dylan Sholander had about the same stories but Brennen did catch a keeper. Helen Kinchen caught 3 fish that went towards her points total for the year. Austin Doyle added to the story -- we caught fish but all of them were too short. Tyler Heiserman had the same story -- no fish from the fish list to weigh in.
In the Middle School Division
1st place - Helen Kinchen - Northport K-8 - Port St. Lucie - 1lb. 14oz. trout
2nd place - Brennen Tessier - Gifford Middle - Vero Beach - 1lb 9oz. trout
3rd place - Maxwell Higgins - Palm Pointe - Port St. Lucie - 1lb. 2oz. snapper
In theHigh School Division
1st place - Shane Surrency - Lincoln Park Academy - Ft. Pierce - 1lb. 15oz. sheepshead
There were no other fish weighed in the high school division
Biggest fish of the tournament went to Shane for his sheepshead.
Our next inshore tournament will be on November 15th with a mandatory meeting on November 14th.
We were very short on boat volunteers this month so a special THANK YOU to our boat volunteers -- Capt. Al Bernetti and Capt. Joe Ward. Also, THANK YOU to Mr. Surrency and Mr. Tessier for taking a Teen Angler out on their boat. We couldn't do it without you!! Thank you to Junior Teen Angler -- Savannah Ward for helping hand out the trophies and prizes and thank you to Mr. Tessier for being the weigh master this tournament!
If you would like more info on joining Teen Anglers or becoming a boat volunteer just call 772-201-5773 or go to the web at

See you guys on November 14th!
