FORT PIERCE - The St. Lucie County Parks & Recreation Department is offering archery classes for both children and adults, starting Saturday, Feb. 24. Classes will meet for four consecutive Saturdays for one hour at the Savannas Recreation Area, 1400 E. Midway Road, Fort Pierce.

Classes are for those who have no experience with archery, and would like to learn this ancient sport in a relaxed, fun setting. The basic skills of shooting will be covered, along with games and tournaments to make learning fun.

The children's class is open to any child age 9 - 12, and meets from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. The adult class meets from 11 a.m. - noon. Class size is limited to six students per session to assure individual attention. Pre-registration is required. The cost for the class, which includes all materials and equipment use, is $20 per student.
