LIBRARY ANNOUNCES MARCH NATURE SERIES

FORT PIERCE - The St. Lucie County Library System announces several programs with Audubon Warden Capt. Chop Lege as part of its Interactive Nature Series for the month of March with topics ranging from finding Florida birds to understanding life in the lagoon.

The series takes place each Thursday at 3 p.m. with a presentation at the Fort Pierce Branch Library in downtown Fort Pierce followed by a "Walk & Talk" on Friday at 1 p.m. on a county mosquito impoundment on South Hutchinson Island. These programs are free and open to everyone.

*Thursday, March 1 at 3 p.m. at the Fort Pierce Library - "Florida Outdoors" - This presentation will be an overview of Florida's natural history that will include geology, wildlife habitats, ecology and much more.

* Friday, March 2 at 1 p.m. - "Walk & Talk" at Vitolo Family Park on A1A, South Hutchison Island.

* Thursday, March 8 at 3 p.m. at the Fort Pierce Library - "Florida Natural Wildlife" - Come learn about the birds, animals, trees, wildflowers, insects, weather and nature preserves of Florida.

* Friday, March 9 at 1 p.m. - "Walk & Talk" at Bear Point Sanctuary on A1A, South Hutchison Island.

* Thursday, March 15 at 3 p.m. at the Fort Pierce Library - "Manatee Search" - This is an opportunity to find out how to spot manatees and to understand them and their place in the world.

* Friday, March 16 at 1 p.m. - "Walk & Talk" at Vitolo Family Park on A1A, South Hutchison Island.

* Thursday, March 22 at 3 p.m. at the Fort Pierce Library- "Life in the River" - Have you everwondered how so many species of plants, animals and insects survive together in the water?

* Friday, March 23 at 1 p.m. - "Walk & Talk" at Bear Point Sanctuary on A1A, South Hutchison Island.

* Thursday, March 29 at 3 p.m. at the Fort Pierce Library - "Florida Birds" - The Captain will introduce you to hundreds of bird species and discuss the abundance of migrating and breeding birds in Florida.

* Friday, March 30 at 1 p.m. - "Walk & Talk" at Vitolo Family Park on A1A, South Hutchison Island.
