PORT ST. LUCIE - Recapture that old Florida feelin' as the Oxbow Eco-Center presents the toe-tappin', foot-stompin' music of the Indian River Bluegrass Boys. This free family event is planned for Friday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. as the final presentation in the Oxbow's "Nature at Night" series.
Sit back and relax or get up and dance to the energized music influenced by such talents as Bill Monroe, Bela Fleck and Doc Watson. The Indian River Bluegrass Boys includes: Richard Powell on the guitar and spoons, Carson Hunter on the banjo, Joe Trivette on the mandolin and fiddle and Ken Parker on the bass. This musical quartet has been playing together for several years perfecting their style, which spans from traditional bluegrass all the way back to the Irish/ Celtic roots that influenced modern bluegrass music of today. And, they're a band with an environmental conscience. Check out their website at .
