PORT ST. LUCIE - Have you ever wondered how a snake moves or why the Gopher Tortoise is called the "Landlord of the Uplands?" Discover the answers to these questions and more on Saturday, July 12 at 12:30 p.m. at the Oxbow Eco-Center's Radical Reptiles program, part of the Nature for Families Series.
Participants will play reptile trivia, hike to a gopher tortoise burrow and craft their very own snake. Please bring water and a hat for the hike. Advanced registration is required. Stop in or call (772) 785-5842 to reserve your spot. Cost is $3 per participant. The event is appropriate for ages 4 and up.
The Oxbow Eco-Center, St. Lucie County's premiere Environmental Learning Center, is situated on 225 acres on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. The Oxbow is located at 5400 N.E. St. James Drive, approximately two miles south of Midway Road, across from the Publix plaza.
