SLC LIBRARIES HOST NATURE TALKS WITH CAPT. CHOP

FORT PIERCE - The St. Lucie County Library System announces the topics and dates for the Interactive Nature Series with Captain and Audubon Warden Chop Legé for the month of August.

Sponsored by the Marine Resources Council and the St. Lucie County Mosquito Control District, these monthly programs are free and open to everyone.

· Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the Morningside Branch Library: "Florida Outdoors" - Capt. Legé will give an overview of Florida's natural history, including geology, ecology and more.

· Thursday, Aug. 14 at 3 p.m. at the Fort Pierce Branch Library: "Birds of Florida" - Capt. Legé will talk about the variety of birds that call St. Lucie County home, as well as those that visit the area as "snowbirds."

· Friday, Aug. 15 at 1:30 p.m.: "Walk and Talk" tour at Bear Point Sanctuary, 2601 S. Ocean Drive, Fort Pierce (South Hutchinson Island). Participants will need to meet the captain at the gates of the park, located on the west side of A1A.
