'SPRING IS IN THE AIR"

Well Spring is in the air...and Mother's Day is right around the corner... so I thought these photographs were not only timely but very appropriate!

I took these photos of a swan couple that would visit daily when I was living on Brown's River in Bayport, New York. They would nest in the marshland area every year and when the new cygnets (baby swans) were born, they would proudly bring the babies over to the shoreline to show them off. One particular year, there were five little cygnets swimming right alongside their parents. As the mother swan approached, I noticed a little one riding on her back. I had never seen this before and I thought it was quite adorable.
