THE BEST STEAK I HAVE HAD ON THE TREASURE COAST WAS AT A SPORTS GRILL/BAR. What???
I must have been dreaming right? Wrong!!! I am not kidding.
I have been going to Alumni's International Grill in downtown Fort Pierce to watch football all season long. I usually get a beer and a burger or chicken sandwich because they are awesome. My wife also likes to go and eat because the wings are her favorite and she says it is not your typical sports bar. It is actually very nice and has an upscale apprearance but, down home in pricing. The type of place I was used to in New England but nicer and with a friendlier staff. Well I went again, this past weekend to watch the playoff game between the Giants and Green Bay and noticed they had a New York Strip on the menu. Being skeptical I asked the bald guy behind the bar, who I assumed was the bartender, but who I found out later was actually the owner,if the steak was good. He told me it was excellent and jokingly said he buys and cuts them himself. So I decided to try it. Absolutely Amazing!!! Tender juicy and full of flavor. Definitely worth every penny. The best part was it was like $13. Now I am torn between having a great burger, chicken sadwich, wings or this steak when I go back. Thank God,
NASCAR
is starting and they are going to cover every race so I will have a reason to keep going with my wife.
These guys never cease to amaze me with the quality of the food and pricing. Interestingly enough, I had parked out behind the place in the parking lot which hold s about 1000 cars and noticed their sign. It read "Alumni's Sports Grill/Bar" "Warm Beer/ Lousy Food" It made me laugh.I told my wife that will be our little secret.
I have eaten at just about every restruant between Stuart and Vero over the last six years and I have to say as a steak lover, this place is the best. If you want to try it the location is at 122 N 2nd Street, Historic Downtown Fort Pierce. The old Governor's Grill location. (772) 466-6944
