AJ's Pasta & Pie serves plentiful portions
Contributed by: YourHub.com on 2/2/2006

Many have surely passed by this diamond in the rough, known as AJs Pasta & Pies.  Located off U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce, hidden behind Long John Silvers, AJs offers a lengthy menu with a variety of Italian and American favorites.

What this storefront restaurant lacks in size, it makes up for in portion sizes.  Seating is limited, but take-out and free delivery is available for those on the run.

Logon and companions were able to find a high-top table, where we received quick service and large Styrofoam cups of soft-drinks and tea ($1.25) to quench our thirst.

Deciding what to eat was the true challenge, as the menu is quite extensive.  Prices range from $1.50 for an order of fries to $11.95 for a large specialty pizza such as barbecue chicken.

The four of us decided on a shared appetizer of mozzarella cheese sticks ($4.95), which were served with AJs signature marinara sauce.  I finally opted to try the Southwestern salad ($6.00), a large garden salad, topped with a generous portion of Cajun chicken, bacon, American cheese and ranch dressing.  I barely made a dent in the greens, as the spicy chicken quickly filled me up.

My fellow diners chose such items as the Teryaki wings ($5.00 for 10 pieces), the Zinger sandwich (buffalo chicken tenders with melted cheese, $5.25) and the Dirty Bird sandwich (Cajun chicken with cheese and ranch dressing, $5.50).  No one was able to clean their plate and we all left feeling satisfied that our stomachs and our wallets were full.

Whether dining in, ordering take-out or delivery, be sure to bring your appetite when dining on AJs Pasta & Pies bountiful selection of Italian and American fare.
