Are You a VICTIM?
Contributed by: Debbie Campbell on 10/13/2006

A victim is a "person cheated, fooled or injured." In the last 5 years, 27.3 million Americans have become victims of Identity Theft, which is the fastest growing crime in the world. Every 79 seconds a thief steals someone's identity. Senior Citizens are particularly prone to these unscrupulous con artists.

My name is Debbie Campbell, President of DC & Company, LLC. We offer unique, non-medical services to Senior Citizens. Our services are unique in that we investigate for scams, fraud and identity theft while putting their personal affairs in order. If wrong doing is discovered, we than walk our clients through the trauma, with the proper agencies. Even if they have not been taken advantage of, statistics show that there is a high probability that it will occur at some point, if precautions are not taken.

Therefore, it is important to put an effective plan in place. The following true story illustrates how a person, that was a victim of scam, went from tragedy to triumph due to the individual plan put in place for her. This story is about a local Senior Citizen, in her 80's, who lived alone with her life in disarray. Her personal affairs were out of control causing her to feel overwhelmed, and she feared making any decisions. She had been scammed on 3 separate occasions, losing thousands of dollars, before DC & Company, LLC was hired. Our company not only organized her personal affairs, but we set up a communication system to her key people, taught specific guidelines against being scammed and put legitimate programs and services in place. During the next 6 months, she avoided 3 potential scams, because of the systems that were in place. The savings from one incident was close to $5,000.00, which was not the only benefit she obtained. She now sleeps at night without fear of becoming a victim or making wrong choices. She has peace of mind knowing her affairs are in order and that the people assisting her are trustworthy. Do you know someone that has had a similar experience as this woman?

The key components implemented were communication, education and legitimate services along with a tailored, individual plan that restored control and order where there had been chaos and disorder.

I am available to speak on scams, fraud and identity theft to your group. If you have any questions about our services or know anyone that needs assistance, please contact me.
