Green Lantern still shines on
Contributed by: "Capt Joel" Kilmer - Big Dog Comics on 12/2/2007

Time passes so fast in the real world and yet in comics it can take forever or be slowed to crawl. It has been 1 year on Dec 9 that our good friend Marty Nodell passed away. Marty was/is the creator of the Green lantern, a superhero that is one of the cornerstones in the DC universe.

Currently one of the greatest story lines in the History of the Green Lantern and the Green Lantern Corps has been exciting readers for the last 6 months. The story revolves around the villain Sinestro, an enemy that is the exact opposite of our hero. As any fan knows a hero is only as great as the villain he must rise above and defeat. "The Sinestro Corps" story line is proving to be a classic, and almost every issue has gone into 2nd print or more after selling out to happy and appreciative fans and collectors. I wish my friend were around to see what he started has grown into a huge fan favorite.

There isn't much I can do as one person to show my respect to a man who although was small in statue was colossal in heart, spirit, and determination. So I am asking any fan, friend, comic collector, creator, or writer to join together this Dec 9 and let the Light shine. If you are out in your car that day, turn on your lights as a tribute to the Green Lantern and his creator Marty Nodell and his wife, Carrie Nodell, wife, lifetime friend, and his greatest supporter,.

And if you are home that day/ evening, put a green light bulb in your front door light and turn it on from 9 PM until Midnight, the darkest hour or night. Let the Green Lanterns light shine in the city's, suburbs and farmlands across this great country as a tribute to one of the last of the old guard of comics and there values and joys they bring to readers of all ages.

I thank you all in advance for joining in a tribute to one of comic's great men and his creation. I urge all who read this to forward, mail or post it to any and all comic fans and readers you may know and remember..."In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my site. Let those who worships evils might, beware my power, Green Lanterns light!"

Thank You all, "Capt Joel" Kilmer, Big Dog Comics, Fort Pierce, Fla.
