The Gifford Youth Activity Center has from its inception in 1998, incorporated a holistic approach in nurturing its youth participants. One of the components used to develop young people is the "Knowing Growing Garden". This is no ordinary garden. The youth are exposed to an array of activities ranging from working with clay, planting, painting, learning about the soil, working both as an individual and as a group...as they learn to grow plants they learn to grow relationships.
