I am glad that you proclaim yourself as a Born Again Christian. I also am not ashamed to call myself a Born Again Christian, and a follower of Jesus Christ.
I encourage you to re-read the Bible, I re-read the Bible every day, for it is not just a book with words in it, it is a living book, that our Lord Jesus uses to reach our minds and hearts with, and fill us with the Holy Spirit.
There is much violence and war recorded in the Bible, mostly in the Old Testament, and the Book of Revelation, and all of it is true, it did happen and it will happen in the near future.
In the New Testament , the Lord made a New Covenant, or agreement, with His people. No more blood sacrifice to cover sin, Jesus payed for all of our sins on the cross, no more wars for land , or slaughtering of the inhabitants of whole cities and stealing their resources.

In the New Covenant all anyone has to do is accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and believe that He is who he claims to be : God, and just live by His two New Commandments found in the New Testament in Matthew chapter 22verses 36-40 :Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Jesus commands us to follow His ways and teachings, and live peacefully among all people, and love, pray for, help, and do good to all people, including our enemies.
His appearance must happen the way He said it would, and He will use non-believers to accomplish His will, as well as His true believers.
We are living in an unusual and special time called the Church Age , or the Age of Grace, and it started when Jesus rose from the dead, walked among His followers for forty days, and ascended to Heaven , ( where He is at now, waiting to return to take back His Planet from Satan ) , and will end at the time of Jesus' return to Earth, when He will rule and reign for a thousand years, and His followers will help Him , and He will rule from Jerusalem. This is called the Millennium. After this will be the final judgment when the Antichrist and False-Prophet will be cast into the Lake of Fire, at the beginning of the Millennium, then all non-believers along with Satan and all of his Angels will be cast into the Lake of Fire at the end of the Millennium.
Then eternity will begin again and we who were called, and chosen, will be with the Lord Jesus for ever.
Remember this; everything that the Lord commands will take place, and the Lord said that Satan will rule this Earth and this time and will possess a man called the Antichrist who will be the most powerful world leader that ever existed, and the whole world will follow this world leader, along with the religious Jewish False Prophet.
If this prophecy is to come to pass, how can the U.S.A. continue to fight and win the war on terror, and bring world peace?
For the Book to be fulfilled,the U.S.A. must either be the one world power led by the Antichrist, or it must disappear from power and allow the one world system to take over.
I believe the U.S.A. is Babylon found in the book of Revelation chapters 17 and 18, and the one world government is the European Union, and the leader of the E.U. will be the Antichrist and he will have as his right hand man, the most powerful religious leader that the world has ever known, and he will be called the False Prophet, maybe the final Pope, maybe a charismatic religious leader.

Revelation chapter 17 verses 12 - 18 : And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. Regardless of what any of us believe, these events will take place, for it is written in the Book, and the only thing we True Christians must do is follow the commands of our Savior, Leader, and Lord: Jesus Christ, found in the book of Matthew, Chapters 5,6, and 7, and not fall into the trap of the enemy: Satan , and take part in the evil destruction of this world, or become the children of Satan by partaking in all of the wars and terrors, that are to soon take place.
