April is near which can only mean one thing to the United Veterans of St. Lucie County - It's time for the 16 th annual United Veterans of St. Lucie County Veterans Golf Classic!
Each year, 100 percent of the proceeds from this tournament are used towards the purchase of new vans. The vans are part of the medical transportation system that provides local veterans a ride to and from appointments at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center. There is no charge to the veterans using this service - and without it; many veterans would not be able to receive VA medical care.
The tournament is on Saturday April 21, 2007 at the award winning St. Lucie County Fairwinds Golf Course. The format is a 4 person scramble, (no handicap). 8:30 am shotgun start, and open to all! The staff at Fairwinds Golf Course, under the direction of Matt Baum, will once again provide a great tournament! If you have a four-some ready to play, give us a call, if you don't have a four-some, call us anyway - we'll hook you right up with a team! The fee is $70.00 per golfer and includes green fees, cart, and lunch. Awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and yes, even last place teams!
Don't play golf? The United Veterans are asking for your help to make this year's tournament a success. Your organization or business can contribute just $60.00 to sponsor a hole. After the tournament, you will receive the sponsor sign and the satisfaction of knowing your donation will ensure the continuation of the medical transportation program. This annual event truly brings together the entire veterans community - and is a great opportunity to show your support.
