Local Resident Appointed to National Position
Contributed by: Gary P. Barth on 8/8/2008

Ft. Pierce resident Jerry Henderson has been appointed as the National Branch Chief, Commercial Vessel Exam, Branch Atlantic South. This is part of the Marine Safety (Prevention) Department of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. The Coast Guard Auxiliary plays a key role in augmenting the work of the Coast Guard and has developed an excellent track record in supporting the Commercial Fishing Vessel Exam program for the Coast Guard over the last several years.

The Auxiliary organization provides training and mentoring resources, with Coast Guard support. National staff officers provide training materials and technical assistance for local efforts. National staff officers can be helpful in providing program guidance and headquarters liaison.

This is a great honor to be appointed to a National Staff Officer Branch Chief position. Jerry is a member of USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 58 of the Treasure Coast.
