Congressman Visits Navy UDT-SEAL Museum
Contributed by: Rolf Snyder on 5/14/2007

U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney took time to visit the Navy UDT-SEAL Museum recently, on North Hutchinson Island. Executive Director, CAPT Michael Howard provided Congressman Mahoney and St. Lucie County Commissioner Chris Craft with an in-depth tour of the Museum and an overview of the history of the Underwater Demolition Teams and Navy SEALs, which started in Fort Pierce during WWII. Afterwards, they discussed several issues including legislation for National designation of the Museum and funding to support expansion that would include a community center on North Hutchinson Island. The Museum will conduct its annual Veterans Day Celebration and demonstration on November 10. If you would like more information on the Veterans Day Celebration or the Navy UDT-SEAL Museum please call (772) 595-5845, or visit our web site at NavySEALMuseum.com
