The Koinonia Foundation ( pronounced coin-a-knee'-uh) has selected Yates & Associates, Public Relations & Advertising, for public relations assistance on a local, regional, national, and international basis. Since 1973, the Koinonia Foundation has existed to provide services to those who need it most with the recent focus being on Rwanda, Africa. Operating with a mission dedicated to "Empower the World", the Koinonia Foundation has, most recently, outfitted five schools along with their adjacent clinics at a cost of more than $350,000. "Our goal is to expand our operations into other parts of Africa and the world," said Williams. An important part of the Koinonia Foundation legacy has been its work in providing electricity to rural areas of Rwanda. The Foundation has funded and installed solar panels in remote villages. Once electricity is supplied, medical equipment and computers are installed by the Foundation in medical clinics and schools to assist in the fight against poverty and HIV/AIDS.

The Koinonia Foundation receives its funding through grants and private donations, of which, 100% goes directly to projects. Administrative overhead for the Foundation is covered through a grant from the Williams Group I, L.L.C. The Koinonia Foundation was founded by Dale L. Williams, M.D. and remains a family foundation run by the Williams family. The family's goals are to expand the Koinonia Foundation across Africa and to continue to interact and cooperate with organizations in the United States and abroad.
