October 22 - October 28, 2006!
As many of you know, lead poisoning continues to be a threat to our children. For this reason, we hope Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Week October 22 - October 28, 2006 will serve as a means to provide outreach and education to families, advocacy groups, industry, and the public. This year the Florida Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (FL CLPPP) is partnering with the Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA), numerous county health departments, and other program partners through the Committee for the Elimination of Childhood Lead Poisoning (CECLP) to facilitate activities to increase awareness of childhood lead poisoning. We hope you will join us in these efforts.
As practitioners, managers, educators and advocates we know that we must get the word out in order to make positive changes. Lead poisoning is a completely preventable condition, but parents can't prevent this condition without adequate education. For this reason, the FL CLPPP and its partners have pledged to facilitate education activities throughout the state, and we need your help! Please help us educate families and communities in your area. For further information please contact the Martin County Healthy Start Coalition at 772.463.2888 or
