Girl Scout Cookie Sale Begins Thursday January 17
Contributed by: holly policy on 1/15/2008

The Girl Scout Cookie Sale will soon be underway and from January 17th through February 4th, people all over our area will be gobbling up these tasty traditions. For those serving our country overseas; however, Girl Scout cookies are an unattainable commodity-- until now.

Throughout the sale, customers will have an opportunity to make donations that will be used to buy cases of Girl Scout cookies that will go directly to our men and women serving their country overseas. Last year, Girl Scouts of Palm Glades Council, Inc. sent over 11,000 boxes of cookies to our troops serving in the Middle East via Soldier's Angels and Forgotten Soldiers. This was quite an increase from our inaugural year, during which we sent just over 3,000 boxes.

"Girl Scouts proudly supports our servicemen and women overseas and we feel that sending them our famous cookies is a great way to express our thanks and appreciation," said Denise Valz, CEO of Girl Scouts of Palm Glades Council. "Customers who want to support our troops, and not have to worry about the calories, can easily participate by donating to the Cookies for the Military project. It's a win-win situation."

Customers may make donations at any Girl Scout Cookie Booth Location, or call the Council and indicate they would like to make a donation to "Cookies for the Military" at 561-427-0180. Each box costs $3.50.
