Free event features Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock contest and
tips on how to start the school year off right

JENSEN BEACH, FL (July 31, 2008) - Treasure Coast Square, the premier retail destination in Jensen Beach, will host its Back to School Extravaganza in partnership with Coast 101.3 FM on Sat., Aug. 9 from10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Youth of all ages are invited to come out and enjoy this free, fun-filled day of interactive activities, including competing in the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock contest, winning great prizes from mall retailers and learning fun, easy tips to help kids start the school year off right.

"This is a great opportunity to bring kids out to have some fun as the summer winds down, and they prepare to go back to school," said Jaden Smith, director of mall marketing, Treasure Coast Square. "Our mall is a great place to shop, meet and enjoy family and friends, plus it's a great venue in which to find some great deals on back to school apparel."

The Back to School Extravaganza will feature a contest based on the ever popular Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock video game. Youth can come out and register with Coast 101.3 FM to compete in the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock contest, sponsored by Gamestop, Sears and Brookstone. Participants will battle other youth in this fun-filled adventure to win the grand prize of a Brookstone Boom Bucket valued at $150.

Local businesses and organizations will also be on hand, providing attendees with helpful hints to get a good start on the school year, such as how to properly pack your book bag to avoid stress on your body, preparation skills for the SAT/ACT, registration for free driver's education classes, question and answer session with pediatric physicians, kids fitness and weight management programs information and even how to start a savings account to get youth ahead of the game. Participating organizations include A Better Life Chiropractic, Huntington Learning Center, A Treasure Coast Driving School, Martin Memorial Health Systems, Bank of America and more.

In addition, event goers will enjoy a fitness demonstration and performances by Pulse Alternative Dance, and receive giveaways from Anchor Blue, Mrs. Fields Cookies, Borders Books, Music & Café and more.
