Hershey, the spoiled cat By: Tina Baxter
Contributed by: Rick Baxter on 12/20/2005

My cat Hershey may be the most spoiled cat in the world...  Well, she definitely gets the most attention out of the three human beings in our household.  Hershey is a Taupe Siamese cat with bright, bold, blue eyes and a bold personality to go along with it.  My mom and I found Hershey at a bank in Fort Lauderdale when I was around 5 years old.  We, of course, had to speak with my dad before keeping her.  My dad unfortunately has asthma and isn't supposed to have any cats around him, but he immediately fell in love with her and let us keep her.  Since I could remember I had been praying for a cat with blue eyes, but most of those cats that I was in love with were pretty expensive and at the time my family could not afford one.  God really blessed me because for the following months we looked for lost ads in the newspaper to see if anyone had posted any about our new feline friend.  Luckily there were none and we got to keep her.  Since then she has been treated like a member of my family and everyone has fallen in love with her at first sight.  Even those who claim to "hate" cats.

Just recently Hershey had a severe rupture that scared us all, but due to all the TLC that she receives from us, she is recovering quite rapidly.  Hershey is really more like a dog than a cat, for ,like all Siamese, she will galdly come when you call and follow you around anywhere.  Even during the whole operation (due to the rupture) my mom said she was as happy and as calm as could be.  She never stopped purring...  She really is the center of the household, as well as the long lost love of our lives.  I thank God for her everyday and wonder what I would do without her.

Wonderful and heart warming story, Tina. You are a wonderful young lady and WE are blessed to have you for a neighbor. I want everyone who reads your story to know that you are truly a remarkable young person, just as your story portrays. Keep up all of your good work, and honor us with another story. We will look forward to reading it! Hershey is a very lucky cat. You have certainly blessed her life as much as she has blessed yours. Love, Donna & Steve Magnani
