SMART SHOPPERS MAKE B&A FLEA MARKET NEW STOP
Contributed by: Christine Weiss on 7/14/2008

SHOPPERS CAPITALIZE ON ALTERNATIVE SHOPPING VENUES LIKE B&A FLEA MARKET

If you were one of the smart consumers who have made shopping at local discount venues a routine, your savvy money saving maneuvers are no longer a secret. In fact, those who may have considered your shopping habits somewhat "thrifty" are now saying you have been smart all along. After all, who knew you could buy gorgeous brand new tropical wall art for your patio, elegant wool rugs for your living room, designer clothing and jewelry and even designer dog cloths at B&A Flea Market for a fraction less than malls, specialty shops and event the internet? Well, lots of people did-and now a flurry of shoppers whodidn't knoware changing the way they spend their hard earned dollars by doing the same.

The misconception of shopping a flea market may be in the name "flea market" or it may just be the fact that people are not aware that the market has over 200-vendors who sell brand new merchandise. Many of the stores are full retail shopping venues that offer the same merchandise that specialty, mall and internet shops do. Most even accept major credit cards. The only difference is-the products are far less expensive, and you don't have to pay rising shipping and handling charges. The current state of the economy is making people really look at how they spend their money, whether they are directly affected or not. The good news is, that you can still find quality goods without tapping out what's left of your bank account. Why? Because market retailers don't have to contend with outrageous overhead, therefore, they don't have to pass that onto the consumers. It's not just a unique venue to browse around, it's smart shopping. Did you know that almost everything you see in the "As Seen On TV" ads can be purchased at a shop at the market? The amazing green bags, or fancy water tubes that keep your plants moist can be purchased on the spot, with no wait and no shipping and handling fees. What is a handling fee anyway? There is even a produce stand featuring fresh fruits and vegetables for far less then you would pay in a grocery store. Did you know that almost any designer perfume or cologne you can dream of can be purchased along the busy perfume alley in the popular B-Row of the market? There is only one problem---you can't get near the place around Christmas. Do you like to dress your dogs like Paris Hilton? You can do that without having to cash in your trust fund. Roxy Doxie Designs in the G- Building has new designer clothing, beds and even high end wedding gear for dogs. It's a refreshing shopping experience, and you never know who you will be running into. But take comfort in knowing you will not be considered thrifty, just plain smart. It's no longer a secret though, and you can count on the Christmas crowds being big. They were big already-but now, plan on getting your shopping done extra early!

Here are just a few shops inside the market:

Tropical Wall Art
Roxy Doxie Designs
Sunglasses Etc.
Tammi's As Seen On TV
Monterey Discount Vacuum
Ronnis Boutique
The Bargain Den

The Market is open Saturday and Sunday from 8am--300pm. Some shops are open on Fridays as well. B&A is located on US Highway One and Indian Stree in Stuart. Parking is free during the summer months.
