TREASURE COAST, FLORIDA/January 8, 2008 -- In May 2008 Simon Youth Foundation (SYF), a non-profit organization dedicated to serving at-risk and disadvantaged youth, will award one-time, post-secondary scholarships to deserving students across the country.
The SYF Community Scholarship Program will award a scholarship of up to $1,500 to high school seniors living in communities with Simon malls, who plan to enroll in any accredited college, university, vocational or technical school.
Treasure Coast Square in JensenBeach and Indian River Mall in Vero Beach are eligible to give Award of Excellence Scholarships.
Applications for the program are available on-line atwww.syf.comand at Simon Guest Services at either mall.
The completed application, along with their official school transcripts and parents' most recently filed tax form, must be sent to Scholarship America, SYF's third-party administrator of the program, by January 31, 2008.
SYF has awarded numerous one-time and renewable monetary scholarships to many high school seniors across the nation. In 2007, 246 deserving recipients were awarded a combined amount of $738,000 in Community Scholarships.

Scholarship America will evaluate all applications, as well as select the scholarship recipients based on their financial need, academic performance, leadership skills and participation in school and community activities. Those students who are the first in their family to pursue a post secondary education will also be given close consideration.
