The conductors of the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony have set the Audition dates for the 2007 - 2008 Season. Auditions for string instruments will be held Friday, August 24th beginning at 4:00 PM. Auditions for winds, brass and percussion will begin Saturday, August 25th at 9:00 AM at the Morningside Friends Church, 2180 SE Morningside Boulevard, Port St. Lucie, Florida. All advanced student musicians are invited. For a scheduled audition and audition requirements, call Dr. John Enyart, Conductor, at 772-871-2276 or drjohnenyart@bellsouth.net. Questions regarding winds and percussion requirements should be directed to Thomas Servinsky at 772-260-7110 or tompiano@bellsouth.net .

Regular rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Jensen Beach High School in Jensen Beach, Florida and will begin Monday, August 27, 2007.

The orchestra performs in a variety of locations throughout the Treasure Coast including The Lyric Theatre in Stuart, Florida and the beautifully renovated Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach. The fall season repertoire will feature pieces by American composers including George Gershwin and Aaron Copeland. For the spring season, the orchestra has been highly honored by an invitation from the Atlantic Classical Orchestra to play the Tchaikovsky Symphony #4, op. 36 in F minor in a side-by-side concert conducted by ACO's internationally renowned director and conductor, Stewart Robertson.

The Treasure Coast Youth Symphony is an all volunteer, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization and is composed of the most talented student musicians from Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties. The conductors of the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony are Dr. John Enyart (founder), Mr. Ben Enyart and Mr. Thomas Servinsky.

The mission of the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony is to provide challenging experiences in orchestral and individual performance for student musicians, to broaden their technical skills and artistic expression, to instill professionalism, and to enhance enjoyment of the musical talents individually and for their audiences.

Members of the orchestra may compete in the annual Soloist Competition. The winner of this competition has the privilege of performing their piece with the orchestra during the one of the season's concerts.

Scholarships are awarded annually to assist members of the orchestra to continue their music education during a summer music program or to enter a college level musical curriculum in the fall, to obtain private lessons from professionals or to purchase musical instruments. The engaging performances and individual virtuosity of the young musicians of the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony's 2006-2007season generated greater excitement and attendance than ever making it possible for the orchestra to increase to six the number of scholarships awarded.

Over the 20 year history of the orchestra, orchestra alumni have been selected to attend major conservatories and university conservatory programs and often opt to continue their music studies in college in addition to their other academic interests.
