The Loggerhead Marinelife Center of Juno Beach recently announced the proud addition of two new board members: Therese Mersentes and Brian K. Waxman.
Therese Mersentes is the Owner of Golden Door Properties, Inc., a real estate company based out of Manhattan and Palm Beach. Therese is very passionate about both animals and children and feels that becoming a board member of the LMC will help her to contribute to both.
One of her first priorities on the board is to spear head the Vet Lab fund-raising campaign for the Center's new campus. Therese is very active in the philanthropic community attending numerous galas every year, supporting the Humane Society of the United States as well as overseeing a family Philanthropic Foundation named for her father, K. Alexis Mersentes.
Brian K. Waxman is the co-founder of Applefield Waxman, a well known commercial and retail real estate Company throughout Central and South Florida. Brian, along with his 12 years of experience in the industry and his current role overseeing the firm's investment operations, is also a transactional attorney and a Certified Commercial Investment Member. Brian resides in Jupiter with his lovely wife and children. In addition to being a board member of the LMC he is also a recent generous donor.
The Loggerhead Marinelife Center will open its new facilities in early 2007. The nonprofit organization is committed to the conservation of marine life through public education, research and rehabilitation with a focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles.
In addition to providing educational programs, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center operates a sea turtle rehabilitation program, and features aquariums and other marine exhibits and is located at 14200 US Highway One in Juno Beach.
