Blog Entry 2 of 2 WELLINGTON'S EQUESTRIAN FUTURE SECURED
Wellington’s place as one of the world’s premiere equestrian lifestyle destinations has been secured. Throughout all of Wellington and the surrounding communities in Palm Beach County, homeowners, business owners, families, and the large group of residents that have a legacy stake in the horse shows and the lifestyle around them, whether year round or part time, now know the future of equestrian events is assured. Today’s announcement sends a strong message that a group of individuals and families are committed to investing in that bright future and becoming the stewards of Wellington’s great equestrian assets. Wellington Equestrian Partners (WEP) announces the following: The existing 82-acre Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Center (PBPEC), home of the Winter Equestrian Festival and the National Horseshow, has been acquired from Palm Beach Polo, Inc for $25 million dollars. The WEP Partnership has expanded to include some of Wellington’s most prominent equestrian families. WEP is acquiring the Old Polo Stadium on the corner of Pierson Road and South Shore Boulevard. WEP has integrated the Littlewood Show Operations into its partnership. WEP is in the process of interviewing Sports and Event Marketing firms in order to develop a world-class sponsorship and event strategy. As part of its purchase of the PBPEC, WEP has acquired the “parking lot” for the Equestrian Club by Tavern on the Green which will allow the Club to reopen early in the fall.

VIP: Very Important Paws Set to Open Another Doggie Daycare and Hotel This Fall

Wellington's canine set is a-wag with the news that VIP: Very Important Paws will open a western location of its downtown doggie daycare, spa, hotel and training facility this fall.

Located at 11120 South Crown Way, just off Pierson and Fairlane Farms Roads, the new 6,000-square foot VIP location will offer patrons a fun, safe and happy environment where every dog literally can have his day! Your best friend will socialize with dogs of similar size and temperament, supervised by a puppy-loving staff and fed hand-prepared meals in playful comfort. VIP offers Florida's hot dogs a climate-controlled space to play and spacious private sleeping quarters. VIP excels in its dedication to personalized service for each individual dog.

Taking the horses on the show circuit? Going out of town? Where better for your canine pal to stay than VIP? Your pooch will be personally supervised (not just remote camera monitors), can bring his own toys and bedding, engage in hours of supervised play with plenty of naps and bathroom breaks, sleep and eat in his own private suite with his own specially prepared meals, and never feel lonely or alone. Isn't that what your best pal deserves?

VIP also offers doggie daycare (or as they see it, all-day play-care) that will keep your pet socialized, stimulated and active, while offering a healthy lunch and plenty of special treats. Bring your best friend to VIP: Very Important Paws for a refreshing dog-spa bath that includes a massage, fur conditioner and a blow dry. Add on aromatherapy, hot-oil treatment or an extended wash-water massage. You may also sign your pal up for a wide range of doggie training programs to ensure a happy and well-behaved loved one.

VIP knows how busy your life is, and offers convenient hours of operation with owners in mind. VIP is open Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm; Saturday from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm; and Sunday from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm for overnight pick up and drop off. VIP is one of the only facilities offering Sunday pick up and drop off and full-day daycare for its hotel guests rather than just several hours per day.

The VIP Wellington location will be open for business this Fall 2007. In addition to the new VIP in Wellington, the "top dogs" at Very Important Paws (Will, Kevin and Marc) are doubling the size of the original location in downtown West Palm Beach, providing more luxury boarding suites and multiple play areas for their more fragile guests, both older and younger. In addition, new service options are in the works, such as pet massage, Reiki and aqua exercise programs.
