Scattered showers, sloppy surf and wailing winds were not enough to stop area surfers from getting their chance to test drive a Placebo surfboard Thursday afternoon at Virginia Forest Beach in Stuart.
As an added bonus, the lucky locals also got to meet and surf with professional surfers Aaron "Gorkin" Cormican of New Symrna, Asher "The Slasher" Nolan of Jacksonville Beach and Ryan Helm of Jupiter.
"The kids are going to have the chance to surf all kinds of shapes like thrusters, quads, bat tails, fish tails and surf skates."
Unlike traditional polyurethane surfboards, Placebos are constructed out of epoxy, making them lighter, stronger and virtually indestructible.
"I wasn't a fan of epoxy surfboards before today," said Trent Frinfrock, 23, of Jensen Beach. "So, I'm stoked that they are letting us test drive the boards because they are so much fun."
