Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department will provide a guided tour of the waterways that meander through Riverbend Park on Saturday, November 7, 2009, starting at 9:00 am.
Park Coordinator Sue Congelosi will lead the tour and describe the local flora and fauna of this unique wetland environment. Riverbend Park plays an important role in the Loxahatchee River watershed. Learn more about the history and ecology of the park during this two-hour paddle. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that can get wet. Bug spray, sunscreen, and bottled water are recommended.
This program costs $5 per person. Bring your own canoe or kayak, or rent one from Canoe Outfitters (561-746-7053). For tour reservations or for more information, call JoAnna at (561) 966-6686. Reservations are required.
Riverbend Park is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and is located at 9060 Indiantown Road in Jupiter, one mile west of the turnpike/I-95 exits on the left side of the road.
