JUPITER MAY 13, 2008 -
The Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe Sound (JTHS) Association of Realtors® is hosting a 'Green Symposium' at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center of Juno Beach on June 2, 2008 from 1 to 4 pm for only $5.00 for each attendee. The program, developed by the Realtor Builder Committee at JTHS Association of Realtors®, will include: Rick Gonzalez of REG Architects, Inc., the architect of the Marinelife Center, who will tackle topics about designing Green buildings, the benefits of going green, and the state requirements for certification; Karen Gonzalez will present space planning and design interior green spaces for residential, commercial, and retail use, incorporating green products and renewable resources for healthy indoor environments; George Gentile of Gentile, Holloway, O'Mahoney & Associates, which is one of the areas leading landscape Architectural, Planning, and Environmental Firms, with projects like the Jupiter Yacht Club, Abacoa, and Jetty's Restaurant, will present ideas on planning effective environments for residential, commercial, and institutional users using xeriscaping, x-filtration, and energy consumption for enhanced storm protection; Builders O'Conner & Taylor, as members of the Florida Green Building Coalition, will share the latest in technology advancements and best building practices in creating green buildings; and Florida Power and Light (FPL) will encourage residential and commercial property owners to develop or retro fit buildings into more efficient, environmentally sound, and storm resistant buildings.
