JUPITER COUNTRY CLUB TO BE HOST SITE FOR BOY'S VARSITY GOLF DISTRICT TOURNAMENT IN FALL 2008
JUPITER, Fla. - This summer, the Greg Norman Signature Golf Course at Jupiter Country Club will be more than just the training ground for 6th through 12th graders on the boy's varsity golf team at Jupiter Christian School. Because Jupiter Christian was asked to host the boy's varsity golf district tournament, the new 18-hole course will also be the host site for the competition, which is slated for October 13.
Expressing his excitement, Jupiter Christian's Athletic Director Scout Loud said, "This will be the beginning of the state series for golf. Nine schools, with five students each, will participate in the district tourney this fall. The top three teams and top three individuals will advance to the regionals. The state finals will then follow those playoffs."
Loud pointed out that Jupiter Christian's boy's varsity golf team will have a new head coach when the team practices from August 11 through mid October at Jupiter Country Club, which is located just west of Florida's Turnpike on Indiantown Road. T.J. Eve replaces former head coach Blaire Bragg, who is moving out of the area.
Students on the team (approximately 14 in number), Eve and several assistant coaches will leave the school for Jupiter Country Club, which is less than a 10-minute drive, and practice from 3:30 to 6 p.m. weekdays.
"Toll Brothers was delighted to extend this invitation to the golf team and is pleased with the relationship we've forged with this school. It is one of the finest private schools in the area," said Jupiter Country Club's Pro Manager Matt Wilson.
Loud remarked that the boy's varsity golf team did very well this year and Jupiter Christian is looking forward to another great season. "The boys are excited about practicing on one of the area's newest golf courses. What a privilege it will be for them to play on a course that has the signature of the legendary Greg Norman associated with it. This is a wonderful opportunity for us and we appreciate that Toll Brothers, the developer of Jupiter Country Club, is being so accommodating."
Commenting on the kick-off district tournament, Loud said that spectators will be allowed to watch as long as they adhere to the same rules as the players, including walking rather than riding golf carts. Eighteen holes will be played.
Incorporating nature preserves and more than a dozen lakes into its design, mitigated wetlands also add to the overall native character of Jupiter Country Club's beautiful golf course. Large wetland preserves are in the center, and generous fairways are defined by large, sweeping bunkers. Orange coquina shell waste bunkers add definition and character to several holes. Landscaping draws from local native plant communities including Pine Flatwoods, Oak Hammock and Sabal Palm Hammock.
Upon completion, there will be 362 detached single-family luxury homes and approximately 166 attached, two- and three-story townhomes at Jupiter Country Club. The one- and two-story estate homes, include swimming pools, are priced from $1 million to over $1.5 million. Townhomes are offered from the $500,000s.
A health and fitness center is under construction, and a fully amenitized Grande Clubhouse is also planned.
Toll Brothers, the nation's leading builder of luxury homes and a Fortune 500 company, began business in 1967. It became a public company in 1986 and its common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "TOL". The company serves move-up, empty-nester, active-adult and second-home buyers and operates in 21 states. For further information about Toll Brothers, visit TollBrothersFla.com.
