The newly established $1,000 Scholarship Award was presented to Bianca Murphy at the Jupiter Business and Professional Women's meeting held at Mangrove Bay Monday, June 23, 2008. Our winner aspires to be a veterinarian in the South Florida area. Bianca, a Jupiter resident and graduate of Jupiter Community High School, is a competitive swimmer at FAU, a Florida Academic Scholars' award student since 2005, works at the Central Animal Hospital, interns at the Animal Health Clinic, and interns at The Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter. Bianca is a third year student at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and is majoring in Biology.

Business and Professional Women/USA, http://www.bpwusa.org, founded in 1919, promotes equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. BPW's local organizations sponsor Signature Conferences, Events, and Programs that benefit local communities, aid in the personal and professional development of young women, and raise awareness of issues affecting workingwomen, such as economic equity for women, health care and domestic violence.
