Loxahatchee River Center Kids Halloween Party!

The River Center, Jupiter's local aquarium, hosted its 2nd annual Haunted Hammock Kids Halloween Party on Friday, October 30! This family event drew over 300 visitors and guests wore their Halloween costumes. Children Trick or Treated at the River Center all day Friday, and the party included Games, Arts n' Crafts, Hay Rides, and Gross Discovery Halloween Boxes filled with "brains", "guts", and "fingers". Spooky snacks were served and featured Spider Web Cupcakes, Lumberjack Fingers, Vampire Mouths, Brownie Headstones, Marshmallow Ghosts, and Graveyard Cheese Dip. Visitors also posed for family pictures with the River Center staff (dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz) in front of the autumn photograph scene. Volunteers helped throughout the event, especially at the Touch Tank, teaching children about some of the animals found in the Loxahatchee River.
The River Center is a not for profit public aquarium and educational outreach facility for the Loxahatchee River District. The River Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and has many weekly children's programs, school groups, and adult events. The River Center is located at 805 N US Highway 1in Jupiter just north of Indiantown Road at the flashing yellow light.
