It's Christmas in Killarney
Contributed by: Jan Davisson on 12/2/2008

When you have a place named McCarthy's Irish Restaurant & Pub and it's Christmas time, you are under a deep obligation to provide your patrons with lots of music, fun and tradition. Knowing this, co owners Frank and Melanie Gillespie are bringing in all kinds of wonderful entertainment throughout December.
It begins with Irish balladeer Noel Kingston every Monday and Friday. Thursday will feature the New Jersey shores' favorite entertainer, Jimmy Byrne who will supply some easy listening tunes. Wednesday evenings will feature another Irishman, Jimmy McPhail, blending the oldies and goodies with a bit of music from the "old sod."
Not to overlook the younger patrons, every Tuesday will star the Hot Rod Show featuring George Orr, the Rod Stewart look a-like singing All Rod; All Night . Then, local favorites, Tammy and Rodney as Wall Street delight all ages with everything from light rock to Jimmy Buffet favorites every Saturday.

Of course, one of the December highlights is Christmas in Killarney on December 17th. It's the wrap up of McCarthy's Toys for Tots Drive and features two Marines to meet and greet the patrons and pick up the new, unwrapped toys donated to this wonderful cause. Of course the evening begins and ends with traditional Christmas music from the U.S.A. and Ireland performed by Noel Kingston. It's a perfect way to take a break and enjoy a bit of holiday music and giving. For additional information call 561 744-2383 or drop off toys at McCarthy's, 187 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta or any busines location displaying the Toys for Tots train logo.
