On March 6, 2008, JupiterFIRST Church (formerly First United Church of Christ, Jupiter), will be celebrating 25 years of partnership and service with our friends and neighbors in Jupiter.
The church had its first worship service in the Jupiter Hilton (now the Jupiter Resort) on the top floor on March 6, 1983.Under the leadership of the Reverend Ned and Lynn Barnes, the church grew and spent several years at Jupiter Middle School until it acquired the current ten acre property on the corner of Indiantown Road and Maplewood Drive. The original church building accommodated about four hundred for worship. The current sanctuary, opened in 2005, accommodates over a thousand for worship. For the last fifteen years the congregation has thrived under the leadership of Dr. Barry Johnson and his dedicated staff and volunteers. Over these past 25 years, JupiterFIRST Church has provided pastoral services, an outstanding preschool, lively middle and senior high youth groups, and many adult opportunities for fellowship, educationand involvement in outreach and mission.
