News from the Chess Club at Limestone Creek Elementary School

This year's 21 st Annual Chess Tournament at Elbridge-Gale Elementary School in Wellington, Florida proved that the Cougars at Limestone Creek still have what it takes to win. The Chess Team tied for 1 st place in the 3 rd - 5 th grade division and brought home additional trophies in Top 10 Player, and Sportsmanship. All-in-all it has been a fantastic year for our 50+ members of the Limestone Creek Elementary Chess Club.

Chess Team Members are:

5 th Graders

Amanda Foster (trophies - Top 10 Players & Sportsmanship), Bryan Bautista (trophy - High Sportsmanship), Connor Vaughn (trophies - 1 st Place & Sportsmanship)

4 th Grade

Noah Singer (trophies - Top 10 Players & Sportsmanship)

3 rd Grade

Maggie Eddison (trophy - Top 10 Players), Hailey Fritz (trophy - Top 10 Players), Jon Atz (Certificate or Excellence), Jared Frankle (Certificate of Excellence), Nicolas Matamoras (Certificate of Excellence), Ian Press (Certificate of Excellence), & Ryan Scott (Certificate of Excellence).

Special thanks to Mrs. Atz, Mrs. Fritz, Mrs. Singer, Mr. Frankle, & and Mr. Press for providing transportation to and from the tournaments the four Wednesdays (April 16 - May 7, 2008). To Mr. Loudaros for the invitation, challenge, and organization of the Tournament and all the behind the scene parents and staff at Elbridge-Gale Elementary.
