Jupiter Nikken Consultant Supports Autism Awareness and Research
Local consultant offering bracelet to
Jupiter residents to promote company's dedication to Autism research and Autism Speaks
Jupiter, FL (Grassroots Newswire) April 10, 2008 -- In an effort to support Autism Speaks, a national organization dedicated to Autism awareness and research, Nikken consultant and
Jupiter resident
Roz Whyman will be selling the TriPhase™ Sport Bracelet within the local community.
Nikken, a leading direct-sales wellness company, will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from the TriPhase™ Sport Bracelet to Autism Speaks. The leading direct sales wellness company adopted the cause as a corporate initiative last year. Thanks to the combined efforts of Independent Nikken Consultants across North America, over 40,000 units were sold in 2007 alone. Nikken UK, the company's European affiliate, has followed its lead with comparable donations to Autism Speaks UK.
"Giving back to society is a critical component of the 5 Pillars of Health philosophy that Nikken was founded on," says Roz. "Autism is no longer an issue that affects parents and family only. This condition is impacting our society as a whole, and I'm honored to join Autism Speaks in its mission to raise awareness and fund research to find a cure."
This complex neurological disorder affects hundreds of thousands of families across the United States, and the numbers are growing. Recent figures show that one in 150 children are diagnosed with autism, making it more widespread than pediatric cancer, diabetes and AIDS combined. Yet research has yet to determine the cause of autism -- or find a cure.
"Nikken has committed to promote the TriPhase Sport Bracelet as a powerful way to raise awareness in continued support of Autism Speaks and this important cause," Roz said. "I'm excited to get
Jupiter residents involved in assisting us in our efforts."
Last November, when the organization's popular Walk Now for Autism arrived near Nikken world headquarters in OrangeCounty, the company participated as the Corporate Visionary Sponsor for the event. Nikken volunteers, including corporate staff and local distributors, raised an additional $5,000 in the walk.
Autism Speaks responded by inviting Doug Braun, vice president of global marketing and development for Nikken, to its recent Annual Volunteer Leadership Conference. At its Annual Volunteer Leadership Conference on March 8, 2008 in northern Virginia, the organization presented the Southern California-based Nikken International with an award in recognition of the company's commitment to autism awareness over the past year. Mr. Braun was asked to accept a prestigious 2007 Corporate Partner award on behalf of Nikken.
"Autism Speaks is proud to recognize Nikken's continuing support of our mission to find a cure for autism and support families touched by this disorder," remarked Scott Leibowitz, national director of corporate relations for Autism Speaks.
