The American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Internists nominated
Joseph Giaimo, D.O., Board Certified, Pulmonologist, and member of Jupiter Medical Center's medical staff since 1995, to the
Practicing Physicians Advisory Council (PPAC). The PPAC is a 15-member physician committee that advises the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Administrator of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding proposed changes to CMS rules and regulations.
Dr. Giaimo will serve a two-year term on the Council which provides valuable feedback to the CMS regarding how today's practicing physician is affected by CMS rules and regulations. The PPAC was formed as a result of a congressional mandate known as the Federal Advisory Committee Act.
"It is such an honor to be nominated by my peers, and to be representing my colleagues on this Council," said Giaimo. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to making significant contributions on behalf of my fellow physicians over the next couple of years."
