Jupiter Medical Center Names Dr. Robert Anderson "Physician of the Year"

Jupiter Medical Center's patient care staff named Robert Anderson, M.D., Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon, "Physician of the Year" for 2008. Dr. Anderson was among 46 physicians nominated by over 300 nurses and clinical staff members at the Medical Center. The nominations were based on criteria that exemplify the values of Jupiter Medical Center including respect, integrity, excellence, stewardship, teamwork, and lifelong learning.
Dr. Anderson, who has been a member of the Medical Staff at Jupiter Medical Center for 24 years, was specifically recognized for being compassionate 100% of the time, a true role model who mentors others, a kind and talented doctor and expecting others to do their best just as he does.
Dr. Anderson was presented with a plaque and a gift basket at Jupiter Medical Center's Annual General Medical Staff Meeting at Abacoa Golf Club.
A not-for-profit 283-bed community Medical Center consisting of 163 private acute care hospital beds and 120 long-term care beds, JMC provides a broad range of services, with specialty concentrations in orthopaedics, long-term care, minimally invasive vascular procedures, cancer care and advanced diagnostics. JMC is currently in the midst of a major, multi-year growth plan which includes emergency department expansion and parking facility. The Medical Center has approximately 1,400 employees, 460 physicians and 700 volunteers.
