HEALING TOUCH BUDDIES, INC. ANNOUNCES Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grant

Susan G. Komen for the Cure has awarded Healing Touch Buddies, Inc. of Juno Beach, a small Grant to support the annual Breast Cancer Specific Healing Touch Buddies Volunteer Training Program scheduled for February 2010, in Palm Beach County. The generous grants received since 2007, have helped Healing Touch Buddies, Inc., provide specialized training to more than 80 volunteer healing touch providers. These grants make it possible to provide compassionate support, through healing touch therapy, to more than 90 women diagnosed with breast cancer in the past five years. Healing Touch therapy is a gentle, non-invasive form of energy balancing that promotes deep relaxation; it helps the patient manage the side effects of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Healing Touch Buddies offers treatments free of charge for up to one year to breast cancer patients in Palm Beach, Broward and Martin Counties. The treatments offer relief from the pain, nausea, anxiety and fatigue often experienced while being treated for breast cancer.

Healing Touch Buddies celebrates its 5th Anniversary this November as a 501C3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of those challenged with breast cancer. Donations to Healing Touch Buddies are tax deductible. Donate online @ www.healingtouchbuddies.org
