Holiday Light Show Continues to Draw Big Crowds
Contributed by: Rick Harpenau on 12/10/2008

This is the third year of the synchronized light show at the Harpenau residence in Whispering Trails subdivision, and it continues to draw many families in cars. A computer program runs the show which includes three songs that play all night from 6pm to 9:40. A low power FM transmitter allows visitors to listen to the music while watching the lights dance, dim, flicker and create a visual spectrum of entertainment.

The system by Lightorama incorporates a total of 72 channels in 5 different controller boxes, all daisy chain connected to the computer. This year about 85% of the display was changed over from incandescent lights to LED lights, providing a much more dynamic appearance while saving about 80% of the energy costs.

Whispering Trails is not a gated community and is located off Loxahatchee River Road. The address is 6190 Sand Pine Ct 33458 if you want to Google the address. Tune your radio to 106.9, sit back and enjoy. Remember to turn your lights off and feel free to stop in and inquire as the workings of it.

Loved the show. Drove by this past Sunday. Great reception from your FM transmitter. How do you get power from your house to the display in such a clean fashion? (ie no cables drapped accross the drive way)
