Contributed by: Stephanie Young on 7/6/2009

Thousands gathered in Abacoa to celebrate July 4th on Saturday night. Eventgoers enjoyed food, fun, baseball and fireworks as they joined their neighbors at Abacoa Town Center. Rooney's Pub treated ten lucky pie-eaters to an apple pie eating contest while Oogles and Googles hosted the annual bike parade, relays, face painting and water games at this old fashioned Independance Day Celebration.

Hundreds of hot dogs from Woody's Coney Island Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and Wings from JJ Muggs, Cotton Candy from Nature's Way and every bit of Costello'spizza were consumed while the crowd enjoyed a live concert by "The Sideshow Band".

Roger Dean Stadium announced a record crowd of 7800 for their 6:05 baseball game. Fans flocked to the stadium courtyard for the kids "Megazone" featuring 10 giant inflatable bounce houses provided by Space Walk of Jupiter. A live " Journey Tribute Concert" followed this years spectacular Fireworks display. www.abacoatowncenter.com
