Five local dancers attended the New York City Dance Alliance dance competition recently in Orlando.

Caylin Frye, 17, a Jupiter High School senior decided to try her luck at choreographing some routines for her and her dance friends, all who attend Jupiter Dance Academy.

Caylin performed a solo routine, and she and long-time dance buddy, Brittany Rivera, 17, also a senior at JHS performed a duet together.

The five girls including Kelsey Lavelle, 16 and Rianne Goodwin, 16 both juniors at JHS and Alexandria Cormier, 15, aDreyfoos School of the Arts sophomore all performed a group routine.

This same routine was a group winner at the recent JHS DECA Talent show. All of the routines took home a gold award in their categories.

In addition to these awards, the four JHS students were all finalists in a scholarship audition. The girls took workshops with "So You Think You Can Dance," dancers Travis Wall and Ivan Koumaev.
